Study Nova is an early tutoring product. Here is what happens to your information.

Only what helps you learn

We store a site-specific account identifier, your chosen display name and preferences, conversations, uploaded learning materials, and practice results. We do not ask for a date of birth, address, or school, and do not create advertising profiles.

Your Nova account

Nova ID handles your account and password on its own sign-in page. Study Nova receives your account identifier and display information, and validates your session with Nova ID. Study Nova never receives your password. Signing in with Nova ID from a guest space moves that space’s chats, practice progress, and files into your Nova account and ends the guest session.

Guest access

Guest learning uses a private browser cookie and a separate server-side learning space. The session expires after seven days; clearing cookies or ending the session removes your access to it. Guest AI use is limited, including shared limits to prevent abuse. Session expiry does not automatically delete the stored learning records.

Your chats and attachments

When you ask an AI tutor a question, your recent conversation, relevant learning context, and attached materials are sent to OpenAI to generate a response. Avoid including sensitive personal information in messages or worksheets. Conversations and files are restricted to your account. You can delete individual chats from Recent chats.

Honest progress

Progress reflects completed practice questions. The learning categories use an early heuristic, not a validated assessment of ability. AI explanations and feedback can contain mistakes; check important claims and sources.

Learning responsibly

This is an early tutoring product. An age-appropriate account policy, parental consent where required, retention and deletion procedures, and legal review are needed before intentionally offering accounts to children. No child-privacy compliance is claimed. The law tutor provides general academic education, not legal representation or personalized advice.

Minimal product analytics

We record actions such as starting a tutor or answering a practice question, along with server-side AI usage counts. These records do not include ad tracking, session recordings, or third-party marketing pixels.
